Chicken Sweaters Are Going To The Hens

Words can't express how excited we are at Krissy's House! If the weather cooperates, a ride to church will ensue, and it is there that Miss Jenny will receive Chicken Sweaters to try for her sweet hen Sparkle, who is having some health issues, and I have now written the pattern. You can pick up the pattern here

It seems that Sparkle began to molt, and while Miss Jenny was baby sitting a border collie, he chased her down and pulled out her feathers, and her skin is red and chapped. Those feathers will not grow back until Spring, and that is a long way off.

When the design process starts, there is always more than one idea rolling around in my head, and leaving them undone is unthinkable. So now there are three designs for her to choose from.

1.
An extended Scalloped edge

2. A Simple lace edge

3. The original scalloped edge

So the good news for Sparkle is, there will be a few designs for Miss Jenny to choose from. Let's hope they fit, and that the weather will allow us to get to church in the morning.

Adorable Girls Crochet Hat and Boot Cuff Sets

This season's Valentine's trunk show was a blast. Having the ability to showcase what comes of my hook is such a pleasure, and this cute purple set got a lot of attention, as well as the other two pink sets.

These sets are so versatile as you can remove the bow, which is actually a pinwheel hair bow. That gives your sweet one the ability to wear their hat for some heavy duty playing in the snow.

Having the ability to work with specialty trims increases the design options. With so many different trims out there the cuteness factor will be on the rise.

The pattern for the boot cuff already exists, and it also features a children's pillbox hat. The little girls are in love with the pillbox, which isn't surprising. If you would like to grab the pattern so that you can start designing for yourself, click on the link.

Chicken Sweaters on Trial

Yes my Chicken Sweaters are on trial, since they haven't been tested on a real chicken yet.

What a wonderful time was had yesterday designing these sweet sweaters for Miss Jenny's chickens, and I can't wait for her to try them on her hens. After some communication with her this morning she assured me that she is excited to be getting them for her babies.

The designer in me is having trouble switching gears, there are so many ideas rolling around in my head on how to dress these cute little sweaters up. They actually look like little dresses that have a little cap sleeve,  don't you think? Of course Miss Jenny will let me know the outcome, whether to keep the cap sleeve, or what kind of adjustments to make. That is why they are on trial, or just waiting for their first dress rehearsal.

Yes, my evening will be consumed with Chicken Sweaters....stay tuned .....

Crochet Chicken Sweaters

I always thought that chicken sweaters were for those of a whimsical spirit. Those few that gather eggs with wide brimmed straw hats carrying a large wicker basket that is lined with calico fabrics trimmed in lace, and a spray of flowers laid to one side of the basket...flowers that they had just picked from their perennial flower garden, all the while cooing and calling to their sweet chickens. All is neat and special in their world. Sigh...the place I want to be at all times in my life.

Upon further investigation, or upon being duly informed, chicken sweaters have a practical use. Chickens who are molting can benefit greatly from a sweater. Especially during this cold weather.

So I have taken the challenge! My husband has just left for work, and I am going to crochet some chicken sweaters. I have cut out my pattern with a piece of camouflage fleece, and I have my cup of coffee in hand, yarn and hook are beside my favorite chair, pen and paper in my other hand, and I am going to crochet the afternoon away. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

First let me share with you a great picture of a chicken wearing a knit sweater. This etsy shop sell knit chicken sweaters. You should check out their store.

These girls look so cute in their sweaters.
They are knit though, and I am looking to crochet.

So this is the style that I am going to try today. I will be crocheting an apron type of Chicken sweater. Be back tomorrow to give you an update. :)

They Almost Sold Out!

Attending my trunk shows has become entertainment for many families. Word is that mother's and daughters, or the whole family will sit and watch together as my show progresses. This last show was no exception, and it was so exciting to have Barbara Legg's Soaps in my Valentine's Trunk Show. Her soaps are so scrumptious and beautiful. So far the Strawberry Patch Soap is my favorite.

The Mango Mandarin sold out quickly.

She also made a Brown Sugar Scrub, and Irish Creme Cappuccino, and a Chocolate Spa Soap.

Not only did she make soaps for Krissys Trunk Show, but soap bags too.

She also made up a gift box, that included bath salts and luxurious Lotion Bar. If you haven't ever tried these, you will want to attend my next trunk show.

I would love it if you would attend my next Trunk Show. Click Here to ask to join, and then you can be a part of a fun exciting show!!
